Charles Earl Montgomery
January 25, 1937 – May 27, 2025
Charles Earl Montgomery, born January 25, 1937, in Pottsboro, Texas, to Minnie Finke and Earl Montgomery, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025.
Charles was a proud graduate of Denison High School and later attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. He built a meaningful career working on radar, satellites, electronic equipment and worked for Texas Instruments.
A man of many talents and interests, Charles had a deep appreciation for the arts—he enjoyed drawing, painting, and wood carving. He also found joy in gardening and listening to bluegrass music. He was an active member of the Texoma Iris Society and the American Legion. His faith was a central part of his life, and he was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Pottsboro, Texas.
Charles is survived by his daughter Anita Rodgers; son Don Montgomery; grandson Travis Rodgers; granddaughter Holly Buenrostro and her husband Jason; his brother Weldon Montgomery and wife Margaret; his sister Nancy Stuteville; and sister-in-law Jane Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Montgomery, his brother, Robert Montgomery, and son-in-law, Clark Rodgers.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Pottsboro, Texas.
Graveside Service will follow on Monday, June 2, at 10:00 AM at Georgetown Cemetery.
Charles will be remembered for his creativity, kindness, and dedication to family and community. He will be dearly missed.
