Mildred Cora Miller, 93, passed away at her son’s residence in Pottsboro, Thursday, October 24, 2013.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Georgetown Cemetery with Reverend Carl Bilderback officiating.
Mildred was born on September 29, 1920 in Gordonville, Texas. She was the daughter of James Adam and Effie Mae Pickens McAlister. She was educated in the Gordonville schools. She and Ivan Edward Miller were married on July 9, 1937 in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1993.
She was a homemaker and cooked for the Georgetown School in Pottsboro for a few years. She loved her church and devoted most of her life to Georgetown Baptist Church, serving through her tithes, prayers, leadership as a Sunday School teacher and leading the GA’s.
She is survived by her son, Gary Miller of Pottsboro; daughter, Linda Pressley of Pottsboro; sister, Lorene Pearson and her husband, John of Pottsboro; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Edward Miller; son, Carl Miller; five brothers and one sister.
Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Funeral Home.
