Tracie Lynn Sims

Tracie Lynn Sims, 51, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Tracie was born on June 25, 1974, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, at Holloman Air Force Base. As the daughter of military parents, she had the unique opportunity to grow up experiencing many parts of the world, shaping her adventurous spirit and love for people. During her younger years, she was actively involved in a variety of activities, including ski and sailing clubs.

On May 1, 1995, she married the love of her life, Michael Sims Jr., in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they built a life centered on family, compassion, and service to others.

Tracie dedicated much of her professional life to helping those in need through her work with Texoma Community Center, where she served in many roles and participated in numerous trainings. Her work reflected her deeply caring nature and her genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She had a special heart for helping people and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Sims Jr. of Denison; her children, Marshall Clovis Sims and wife Hannah of Sherman, Texas, and SethThomas Michael Sims of Denison, Texas; her parents, Gary Thorpe and Wanda Merical of North Carolina; her niece and also adopted daughter, Ashley Ketcher; and her adopted son, John Yates.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nora Lou Whited.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020.

Tracie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of compassion and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.
