Born in: Würzburg, Germany
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

David Hancock was born in Würzburg, Germany to Victor and Mary, as part of a proud military family whose travels and experiences shaped his early life. Through his father’s service as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the 82nd Airborne Division, David and his family lived in various places throughout the world, creating lifelong memories and deep family bonds.

Known for his intelligence, humor, and resilient spirit, David was exceptionally bright from an early age. He graduated from high school in North Carolina before later settling in Louisiana, where his family roots remained close to his heart. He went on to earn a degree in Computer Information Processing in Waco, Texas and later answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. During boot camp, David excelled and earned commendations for his performance and dedication.

David’s life journey was one marked by both triumphs and challenges. He faced hardships that tested him deeply, yet those who knew him best also witnessed his perseverance and growth through the years. Following the passing of his beloved parents, Mary and Victor, David experienced a renewed sense of purpose and faith that transformed many areas of his life.

David developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that became an important source of strength, hope, and comfort to him. His faith was not loud or performative, but sincere and lived out quietly through compassion, generosity, encouragement, and care for others. He often extended kindness to friends and strangers alike, even during times when he himself had very little.

Those closest to David will remember his thoughtful conversations, sharp sense of humor, protective heart, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He valued friendship deeply and was grateful for the many loyal friends who walked beside him throughout his life.

David leaves behind family members, dear lifelong friends, and all who were touched by his spirit, honesty, and enduring heart. While his journey was not without struggles, his life serves as a reminder of grace, redemption, perseverance, and the power of love and faith to transform a life over time.

The family finds comfort in the promise of Scripture:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16

  1. You will be missed dear brother. I am comforted with the knowledge that you are with Jesus right now and family members along with the angels and saints are celebrating your homecoming!

One day we shall be together again. This time for eternity.

    • Rest well lil brother. I already miss you and our deep stimulating conversations. Your spiritual knowledge was impeccable. You taught me soo much about many things that I often wondered how you could retain such valuable information. You even gave proof of your information and insisted I do my own research. I/we love you David, but God loves you best. Gone but not forgotten. Bev

  2. May he rest in heaven 🙏 my condolences to the family 🙏
