Danny (Danniel) Lee Reeves, 79, of Pottsboro, Texas, born June 3, 1947, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026.

Danny will be remembered for his kind heart, friendly nature, and the way he could make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and had a special love for animals. Danny was a familiar and beloved presence in the Pottsboro community. After his retirement from the City of Pottsboro, his years of service and connection to the community were honored when a road was named after him.

Danny enjoyed the simple things in life. Some of his favorite pastimes were taking long walks, watching scary movies, and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he treasured the people and animals he loved and the friendships he made throughout his life.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Ruth Roy Reeves; his brother, Bobby Reeves, and sister-in-law, Linda; his sisters, Ellarene Reeves Bullock and Delois Reeves Erickson; and his niece, Melissa Martinez Greenwood.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Teresa Reeves Finke and husband, Larry, of Denison; Pennie McKenzie of Denison; Sheri Martinez Morris and husband, David, of McKinney; Jody Reeves and partner, Melanie James, of Denison; Roy Martinez and wife, Kay, of Melissa; Skyler Zupan of Illinois; and Shallus Greenwood of Denison.

Danny also leaves behind numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with. Throughout his life, Danny made many wonderful friends who became like family and whom he held close to his heart.

Danny will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, warm personality, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date.
