So sorry for your loss! My deepest sympathies to his family and his sisters Kathy and Amber. My mother Edith Casaday still lives next door to Kathy but Bill, Kathy, Amber and I always played together as kids. I am happy to see he had a family and grandchildren to treasure! William Gene “Bill” Thompson, 60, passed away on August 22, 2026, in Denison, Texas.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no public services at this time.
Bill was born on July 30, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa to Richard “Dick” and Patricia (Snyder) Thompson. Bill was raised and attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked as a handyman or maintenance man for most of his life.
He married Copper Hoag Cole, and they had one son, Richard Thompson, before divorcing. Bill later married Traci, and she passed away in 2025.
Bill is survived by his son, Richard (Carolina Hernandez) of Van Alstyne, TX, and their children: John Ray, William, and Mercedes, as well as his two sisters, Kathy Thompson and Amber Thompson, both of Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by step-daughters Summer, Nicki, and Toni. He was affectionately known as Poppi to Summer’s children, Mia and Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Traci, and several aunts and uncles.
