Reverend J. B. Burrough, 88, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, September 21, 2015 at his residence in Cartwright, OK.
Family night will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Funeral Home in Denison.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Brother Clyde Hess officiating. Serving as his pallbearers will be Ronnie Wines, Daniel Haile, Chance Haile, D.J. Simpson, Chad Walton, and Scottie Moody. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Haile, David Ingram and Donnie Neal
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, N 3rd St., Calera, OK. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
J.B. was born on May 20, 1927 in Hemphill, Texas, the son of Alex Ashmoore and May Lee Westbrook Burrough. He married Louise Jones Kusler in Bonham, Texas on September 5, 1972.
J.B. was a member and the pastor of Harvest Hour Pentecostal Church of God in Cartwright. He worked as a mechanic and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
Reverend Burrough is survived by his wife, Louise; son, Allen Burrough of Cartwright, OK; daughters, Deborah Coffey of Colbert, OK, Denise Walton and her husband, Kenny of Denison and Linda Simpson of Cartwright, OK; brother, Bobby Burrough of Wagoner, OK; 19 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and May Burrough; brother, Ralph Burrough, sisters, Anita Smith and Bernice Hope; children, Virgil McClelland, J.B. Burrough, Jr., Jackie Kelley, Cathy Burrough and granddaughter, Amanda Haile.
