Ronald Lee Shaeffer, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 85. He was born on May 27, 1940, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Emerson and Madge Shaeffer.
Ronald attended college in Ohio, graduating from Columbus University. He went on to dedicate his career to public service, working as an auditor for the United States government. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to serving others. He was also a lifetime member of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association).
Ronald enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time going out and enjoying activities with his beloved wife, Gloria. He cherished time with family and took great pride in watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
He is survived by his daughters, Jayne Phillips and husband Will, and Donna Souders; grandchildren, Brian West and wife Brooke, Jerry Hunt, and Michelle Owens and husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Bryston, Kenly, Brayden, Paisley, Ethan, Maeghan, Tayte, Aaron, and Brody; and great-great-grandchild, Avery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Madge Shaeffer; his beloved wife, Gloria Shaeffer; and his son-in-law, Harry Souders.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quiet strength, and the many memories shared with those who loved him.
