Clifton Franklin Lewis

February 27, 1935 - January 15, 2026

Clifton Franklin Lewis, affectionately known as Cliff (or to some, Franklin), was born on February 27, 1935, in Hagerman, Texas, to BC and Myrtle (Jones) Lewis. He passed away on January 15, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas.

On February 14, 1959, Cliff married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Kay Branham, in Denison, Texas. Cliff proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, dedicating his life to a distinguished 23-year career in the military before retiring in 1978.  After leaving military life, Cliff began his second career at Oscar Mayer in Sherman, Texas, where he retired from in 1993.  Full retirement brought Cliff a life of daily golf, a renewed love for witling and wood working, time with kids and grandchildren as well as travel with his wife Kay.

Cliff is survived by his three children, Douglas Lewis and wife Tammie of Ashdown, Arkansas, Dale Lewis and wife Beverly of Tucson, Arizona, and Dawn Lewis Vinson and husband Eddie of Austin, Texas.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Lewis, his parents, and all 9 brothers and sisters.  He will be remembered with gratitude for his service to his country, love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind in all who knew him.

A dual Celebration of Life service honoring Cliff and Kay Lewis will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at 10:00 a.m. at the Johnson-Moore Chapel in Pottsboro, Texas.

Following the service, interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Georgetown Cemetery.
