David Rex Cassell was born on September 23, 1958, in Denison, Texas, to Jack and Mary (Pearson) Cassell, He passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Plano, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was 66 years old.
David was a hardworking and kind-hearted man who will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his strong work ethic. David had a deep love for Texas sports teams and found peace in the quiet of a fishing trip. These simple joys brought him great happiness throughout his life. He spent his career as a machine operator, taking pride in every task he undertook. But beyond his work, David’s greatest legacy lies in the love he shared with his family and the values he instilled in them. David deeply loved his church, Living Hope Fellowship of Denison, where he felt the spiritual strength and guidance from his church family.
He is survived by his children: Casey Cassell of Roswell, New Mexico; Justin Cassell; Kimberly White and her husband Jim of Frisco, Texas; and Christi Simpson and her husband Kenny of Sherman, Texas.
David was a devoted grandfather to Alicia Gossett and her husband Eddie of Anna, Texas; Kristiffer Morrison of Forney, Texas; and Michaela Wright and her husband Stephen of Denver, Colorado. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Easton and Emma Gossett, Connor Wright, and Maddox Morrison.
He is also survived by his brother, Larry Cassell and wife Deborah of Lone Oak, Texas; his sister Jo Ann Towery and her husband Bill of Pottsboro, Texas; and his sister Thelma Dagenais and her husband Mike of Denison, Texas.
David was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Carolyn Cassell; his grandson, Michael Morrison; and his parents, Jack and Mary Cassell.
A celebration of life will take place at 1 PM, Monday, June 9, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 401 W Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
