Larry Curtis Burchett

June 15, 1952 - October 7, 2025

Larry Curtis Burchett, 73, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1952, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to Curtis and Vearlene Burchett.

On September 9, 2009, Larry married the love of his life, Lisa Griffin. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an engineer with OG&E, where he later retired. Following his retirement, Larry continued to stay active, working in the maintenance department at Texoma Medical Center.

Larry had a lifelong passion for sports—he loved watching all kinds of games, spending time on the golf course, and in his younger years, playing football.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Griffin Burchett; sister, Brenda Duck and husband Fred; daughter, Stephanie Anaya and husband Tony; son, Lance Burchett and wife Danielle; grandson, River Burchett; and stepson, Stuart Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Vearlene Burchett.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Texoma Medical Center Home Health and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Per Larry’s request, there will not be an elaborate service. Instead, a memorial visitation will be held with music, video, prayer, and a special time to share memories.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, 2-4 pm, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, Texas.

Larry will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
