Nita Kay Beshears

July 30, 1939 - December 31, 2025

Nita Kay Beshears, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. She was born on July 30, 1939, in Parnell, Texas, to J.R. Morehead and Eileen (Compton) Morehead.

Nita was a wonderful woman of faith and a devoted member of Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. She found great joy in time spent with family and friends; whether it was boating on Lake Texoma, gathering with her book club, or dancing with her beloved husband, Max, at Tanglewood. Together, Nita and Max enjoyed traveling extensively in their coach, creating countless memories along the way. Above all else, Nita cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her life. One of her greatest blessings was being able to spend Christmas with all of her family for the final time.

She is survived by her children, Mechele McMichael and husband Steve, and Sheila Badgett and husband Tracy; grandchildren, Christa Chinchilla and husband Pablo, Cayla Brown and husband Colby, Cody McMichael and wife Christine, David Carlile and wife Alisha, and Danielle Carlile; great-grandchildren, Isabella Chinchilla, Emma Chinchilla, Olivia Chinchilla, Conley Brown, Blakely Brown, Atlas McMichael, Oliver McMichael, Nova McMichael, David Maxwell Carlile II, and one great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Janet Howard, Marti Dinubilo, Betty Ryan and husband Terry, and Larry Morehead and wife Martha, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Edward Beshears, and her parents.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Georgetown Cemetery, 617 Cemetery Road, Pottsboro, Texas 75076.

Nita will be remembered for her faith, her love for family, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
