What to Do When a Death Occurs
When a loved one passes, it can feel overwhelming to know what to do next. Please know you are not alone. The staff at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to guide you with compassion and care.

How We Help You Right Away
When you call, one of our caring staff members will gently ask you a few important questions, such as:
- Your loved one’s full name
- Their current location (hospital, nursing facility, or residence)
- Your name and contact information
- The next-of-kin’s name and contact information
- Whether there is a pre-arranged funeral plan in place
This information allows us to respond quickly and begin making the necessary arrangements for your family. We will then set a time for you to meet with us to discuss the details of your loved one’s service.
What to Bring With You
When you come to the funeral home, we may ask you to bring a few items and pieces of information to help us prepare:
- Clothing for your loved one
- Social Security number
- Birth date and place of birth
- Parents’ names (including mother’s maiden name)
- Marital status and education information
- Veteran discharge papers or claim number (if applicable)
- A recent photograph
- Insurance Policy Information (if any)
- Pre-arrangement paperwork (if any)
- Cemetery lot information (if any)
