Deborah Lavern Smith, 67, of Denison, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2026. She was born on July 7, 1958, in Denison to Stormy and Dorothy McCloud.

Deborah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in serving her Lord and her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Louis Smith, and together they built a life centered on faith, love, and service.

A faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Denison, Deborah loved all things church-related. She spent many years serving in the nursery and volunteering with Vacation Bible School, never missing an opportunity to do something for Christ and His church. Her servant’s heart and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Deborah was a dedicated housewife who took immense pride in her family. She especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchild, celebrating each of their accomplishments and holding them close to her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Louis Smith; her daughters, Dorothy Smith, Eva Benedict, and Annie Smith; her grandchildren, Erica Worthington, Jacob Worthington, Jade Benedict, and Emory Benedict; her great-grandchild, Lillian Worthington; her sisters, Frankie Johnson and Pam Balak; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stormy and Dorothy McCloud.

A service to celebrate Deborah’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Denison, Texas.

Deborah will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her loving spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her family and her church.
