Harold Raymond Franks

Harold Raymond Franks, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, in Denison, Texas. Born on April 25, 1936, in Grafton, North Dakota, he was the son of Lorne and Lorene Franks and the fourth of nine children.

Harold lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to his family and community. He graduated from high school in Hamilton, North Dakota, before continuing his education at Grayson County College and later earning his Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Southeastern College.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years of honorable service. During his military career, Harold completed a tour during the Korean War and exemplified the values of duty and sacrifice throughout his service.

Harold shared 55 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife Marilyn Ann Franks, until her passing in 2014. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.

Following his military retirement, Harold remained active in both his professional and community life. He owned Allen’s Bait Shop and worked for Gibsons and Sears. A faithful member of Fellowship Church, he generously gave his time volunteering and helping fellow church members whenever needed. He was also a proud member of the Masonic fraternity and the Shriners. Among his greatest joys were spending time fishing and serving those around him.

Harold will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast faith, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His legacy of service and love will continue through the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Harold Franks and wife Tina; daughter, Teresa Franks; grandchildren, Nathan Christopher Franks, Ryan Matthew Franks and wife Nadine, and Troi Ann Franks; great-grandchildren, Naomi Jane Franks and Maverick Paul Franks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorne and Lorene Franks; his beloved wife, Marilyn Ann Franks; and his son, Paul Raymond Franks.

A memorial service honoring Harold’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas. Burial with military honors will take place at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Harold’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love—a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
