Henry Ruben (Pete) Peterman, Born December 11, 1923 was taken up by God's Angels on November 8, 2015 at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 8 days. A decorated veteran of World War II, awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received May 15, 1945 on Okinawa, always a Proud Marine. He was an accomplished Farmer once bringing in the first bale of cotton in both Collin and Grayson counties. He was a Dairyman, Business Owner and Carpenter. He spent 25 years working for Texas Instruments before retiring in 1985. He had a great love of the outdoors; he loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel. He always enjoyed sharing that love with his children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday November 11, 2015 at Georgetown Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard. Reverend Josh Burton will officiate. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Pottsboro Chapel. The chapel will open at 12:00 PM on Tuesday.
He is survived by his sister, Georgia Richardson and husband, John of Howe; daughter, Betty Darlene Pruett and husband, Charlie of Pottsboro; son, Kenneth Peterman and wife Donna, of Pottsboro; four grandchildren, Sheila Davis and husband, Jay, Jon Hayes and wife, Wendy, Cory Ross and wife, Shawnda and Michael Peterman and wife, Christy; fourteen great-grandchildren and too many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to count. He was preceded in death by his parents, George B. Peterman and Bertha E. Jackson Peterman; brother, Verlon Lee Peterman; twin sister, Hazel Shelton; and his loving wife of 57 years, Melba Ruth Fox Peterman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grayson County Home Hospice, 505 W Center St, Sherman, TX 75090.
Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Funeral Home.
