Mary E. Rice, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 26, 1947, in Emporia, Kansas, to George and Helen Bishop.
Mary graduated from South High School in Wichita, Kansas. She began her career working in accounting and later became an auditor for Kansas Secure Title where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic.
On June 25, 1965, she married the love of her life, Charles Rice, and together they built a loving family sharing many wonderful years together. Mary attended Georgetown Baptist Church and lived her life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others.
Mary found her greatest joy in her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was deeply involved in their lives and treasured every moment spent with them. She had a vibrant personality and a true love for life. Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cross stitch, often creating special handmade treasures for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also known for being a huge bingo fan. “BINGO MARY” could always bring laughter and warmth wherever she went.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Rice; her children, Jeff Rice and wife Kelly, Michelle Dunn and husband Brad, and Michael Rice and wife Paula; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Crow and husband Vander, Jessica Warren and husband Ryan, Josh Rice and wife Zandra, and Jeannette Brown and husband Travis; and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Foster, Miley Foster, Adam Warren, Lucas Warren, Emma Warren, Rowyn Rice, Ragnar Rice, Clara Brown, Kenzie Brown, and Addi Brown.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Bishop; her granddaughter, Amanda Rice; and her great-grandchild, Dominick Foster.
Mary will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, her creativity, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love and faith will continue through the many lives she touched.




Mary was a beautiful person I always loved talking to her seeing how her day was and she would always ask how I was and the girls . She always made me feel welcome no matter what I know you all will miss her dearly but just remember you will be reunited again one day . My live to you all and you are all in my prayers
